Session
by SHAM KAMAT
“Gossip”
A wonderful session carried out by Mr. Sham Kamat
which was of two plus hour, which really ran quickly. This session is named as
“GOSSIP” because we always spend time in speaking about others. Directly or
indirectly we praise others and some where we downsize our self. There is
saying in Hindi that “Tu kyun apne aapko kisi aur me khojta hai, koi hai jo
tujhme bhi apne aap ko khojta hai” which means we always try to be like other
but even we have something special and great qualities which someone else want
to be like us. Copying others is not advisable.
The objective of this session was to improve self and
build a self confidence to create a inner value so that we achieve great in the
coming placement drives and remarkable career achievement in total.
The Gossip
was started with the question “How many of you want to be unsuccessful?” a
strange but right poke to us. 99% of students want to be successful but HOW? Can
we be successful? What is path ? A thought process, a debate was conducted. We
all dream about successful life but only few achieve it because only getting a
good job with high salary package cannot be called as successful.
Further “what is exactly successful in life?” This
was the second question of Gossip.
The third question of the session was “How to market/sell
ourselves?” Gossip was carried out with case-lets like of shopping a wrist
watch. Factors influencing at the purchase of a wrist watch we consider, color,
design, price, brand, affordability, quality, look etc in the same way a
recruiter also looks in the factors in candidate as per requirement.
To sell ourselves the basic thing is to create a
demand. Unless and until we create a demand we cannot sell ourselves. This was
explained by Mr.Sham Kamat by connecting it to four P’s of marketing i.e.
product, price, place and promotion. He took case of Election campaign of Prime Minister (PM) Honorable Sri.Narendra Modi.
The way PM created a demand and sold himself for PM position. Few observations:
He positioned himself very effectively against the competition and compotators.
PM presented himself very competent which is very important to defeat rival
product. The price for the product he mentioned was very less. We all know that
congress ruled for more than 4 to 5 decades. Mr. Modi said give me too 5yrs and
notice a changes. India took a calculated risk of giving 5 years with
assumption, hoping good return on investment.
The place was of PM position and the promotion
strategy with segmented market. The strata’s PM with targeted main locations
like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab etc and he also vertically
attracted and understood the target market of youths of the nation and his
speech was in line with the same direction. This all things helped him to reach
him at his success.
Mr. Kamat said that there are three powers for
successful.
1. Concentration:
We all lack in concentration, a small beep or vibration of our mobile phone diverts
our mind in seconds. It is very important to be focused towards our goals so
that we can avoid one and all distractions. Research say that if we command
over concentration 50% of the success is won and the rest 50% is of just
overcoming of the other two powers.
2. Decision
making: To become successful it is very
important to take a right decision on right time. For example: always moving
ahead is not necessary sometimes we should also step backward so that we can
take a long jump over our hurdles. So taking a right decision is also very
necessary.
3.
Unselfishness:
To be unselfishness, which is very difficult for a mankind. We rarely find
people who are unselfishness and help others to grow.
If we take
command over all these three powers, than no one can stop us to become
successful.
Ending up with a
beautiful Doha by Santh Kabir Das JI
“JAISE
TIL ME TAIL HAI JEEUN JAG MAG ME AAG,
TERA
SAAHI TUJHME JAAG SAKE TO JAAG”.
